“LA nights, up to no good…” The first line to the single that LA based Burgundy Skies recorded here at The Abstract LA. Have to say — It’s a bangah. The whole studio got real funky as soon as these cats rolled through. By the way that’s “funky” in a good way… not the “woah, what’s that smell,” way. It was awesome seeing this song come together from the ground up. The day started with Mark Alvarino laying down drums. Then Nathan Guze brought the funk with a killer bass line. Daniel Ingram got his sexy on with the keys. Frank Ilem got down on the guitar with a little “wokka-chicka-wokka-chicka” (whisper that to yourself out loud. You’ll get it.) And the day wrapped up with Kristophe Malone’s incredibly catchy vocals. The single LA Nights is set to come out soon, and we definitely recommend looking out for it. It’s just a fun song. All around.
Fun fact: Jesse has seen them play live at Der Wolfskopf in Pasadena. The german beer hall is known for weekly live music, and steins as big as your head. While his memory of it may be a bit fuzzy (due to the steins), apparently they put on one hell of a show. Follow them on social media for updates on gigs and the release of LA Nights. Seriously. Look out for the record, and go see these guys play. You will not regret it.
